Standby or portable: the two paths, in plain terms
A portable generator is the one you wheel out, fuel up and run a cord from when the power drops. It stays in the garage the rest of the year and it goes wherever you need it, which is exactly the point of one.
A standby unit is the opposite kind of decision. It sits outside on its own pad year round and is wired permanently into the house so it can pick up automatically the moment utility power fails. Arrow carries the full Generac range across both categories, and the right answer depends on what you actually want covered when the power is out, not on which one sounds more impressive.

Arrow is a supply house, not a contractor, and generators are the clearest place that shows. We sell the unit. We do not wire it into your panel, run the pad, or pull the permit, and we are not going to pretend otherwise to close a sale.
What we do instead is recommend a qualified, experienced electrician to handle the installation, because tying a standby unit permanently into a home's electrical system is licensed electrical work, not counter work. That is not a gap in the service. It is the same straight dealing the counter is known for, and it means nobody leaves here thinking Arrow is going to show up with a truck and a crew.

The reason Arrow carries a full Generac line is not theoretical. Storms come through this part of Maryland and take the power with them, sometimes for an evening and sometimes for longer, and it happens on the same trees and the same lines every time weather turns bad enough.
A generator bought in good weather is a generator that is ready the next time a storm rolls through. Bought after the lights go out, it is a generator you are waiting on along with everyone else on the same block.
What to ask before you buy
Start with what you actually need covered: the well pump and the refrigerator are a different conversation than the whole house running at once, and that answer shapes everything else. Ask the counter to walk you through the difference between the portable and standby lines rather than picking by size or price alone.
Ask early who is going to handle the installation if you are buying a standby unit, since that is a separate decision from the purchase and worth lining up before the unit is sitting in your driveway. And ask which counter, Bel Air, Aberdeen or Elkton, has the unit you want in stock, since it can vary building to building.
